Back then, losing the weight wouldn’t have been enough. I had body image issues for as long as I can remember, and I knew I needed to change my attitude about my body and its beauty in order to regain myself.
The only person who can take care of yourself is you, and that means, you have to be brave enough to tell your employer that you need mental health days so you can continue to be a positive and productive member of your team.
I was at least 9 years old when I first saw her on "Moesha," and at that time in the 90’s, there wasn’t a lot of black female leads in sitcoms so it was huge for representation.
